10.1.1 Upgrade Path Means Thousands in Savings
BI customers can include mobile access via native iPad app to the list of advantages available through newly released IBM Cognos 10.1.1, and Montreal’s NewIntelligence is poised to facilitate the upgrade. “With the iPad app, 10.1.1 is now the gold standard for IBM Cognos users, but the beauty is that it’s never been more affordable,” said NewIntelligence President, Corey Mendelsohn. “In fact, for supported customers, the upgrade is free. Compared to even a month ago, this represents a savings of thousands of dollars, which is a huge benefit for IBM Cognos users.” Key 10.1.1 features include:
- Mobile rights for Blackberry will now be included in an Enhanced Consumer or higher role
- Active reports will now come with a native app for iPad
- Password protection for increased security with Active Reports
- Added features to the Business Insight Advanced authoring tool
- Two new low cost roles for the Mobile Consumer and Active Reports Recipient
The trade-up path offered by NewIntelligence allows IBM Cognos 10 users to access this new functionality as long as they have the licensing for Enhanced Consumerr. Users running Enhanced Consumer or higher have free access to IBM Cognos Mobile featuring the new iPad app.
“Prior to 10.1.1, users were required to purchase separate mobile server licenses, as well as individual mobile licenses per user,” said NewIntelligence’s Mendelsohn. “Access is now included, and, along with our trade-up path solution, customers can realize savings upwards of $25,000. The Active Reports role alone allows users to consume reports at a fraction of the previous cost. We look forward to upgrading our customers to IBM Cognos Mobile in the months ahead.”
